Just easy!

Five years ago, I shared my first recipe in my newly created Facebook group called: Creative Kitchen Fairies’  (in Hungarian), and soon after, my column Éva’s Ideas in the Kitchen began appearing in the Cluj-based daily newspaper Szabadság. I also “cooked” a few times on Gastrobetyár, a show on Cluj Radio, and more recently, viewers could see me on the Erdélyi Figyelő program of Cluj Television. I’ve also cooked a couple of times for the Maszol online portal, and Erdélyi TV paid me a visit as well.
My kitchen creations have been appearing on various platforms for nearly half a decade now, inspiring those who crave a bit of flavorful creativity in their busy everyday lives.

I am the mother of two teenagers and the creator of the Creative Kitchen Fairies blog.

When I was expecting my first child, I tried my best to prepare for the years ahead — simply because I thought it was possible. Today’s moms have it a little easier when it comes to self-education: there are countless books, guides, and blogs explaining that real exhaustion doesn’t truly begin until after your child is born. You soon realize that what you once considered “tiring” was actually a leisurely, relaxing break compared to what comes next.

I began experimenting in the kitchen at a young age, initially just for my own enjoyment. But from the moment my first child was born, cooking became a real challenge. Everything changed — time sometimes flew by, sometimes seemed to stand still, my previous routine vanished without a trace, and the time I could dedicate to cooking shrank to a bare minimum, often disappearing entirely.

The second challenge came with my second child, when I had to fight for every single bite. I switched into inventor mode, figuring out everything — even the impossible — just to make sure my little one got proper, nutritious food.

I know that not everyone enjoys cooking. And even those who do don’t always have the time. It happens to me too. But children’s hunger doesn’t take a mother’s workload into account — they come home from a long, tiring school day as if connected to some kind of “hunger app,” which activates on the way home and grows stronger the closer they get to the house.

At every stage of a child’s development, there is always something that demands a mother’s attention, from newborns to teenagers. That’s why whenever I can save time on any of the “invisible” household tasks — whether it’s cooking, cleaning, laundry, or yard work — I do so without hesitation.

This is how my culinary philosophy was born: Simple, quick, and delicious! Over the years as a “kitchen fairy,” I’ve improvised, I’ve shortened classic recipes and adapted traditional dishes — but never at the expense of quality or taste.

And as for how easy the recipes are — I am the proof: if I can make them, anyone can. Here you’ll find simple, quick, tasty, and tried-and-tested recipes — hopefully some will become your favorites.

If you have any questions, or if you feel I may have left something out of a recipe (yes, it has happened), don’t hesitate to reach out — write to me, and I’ll reply as soon as I can.

Happy cooking!
